Become a smarter trucker

GRIMSBY, Ont. — A new Smart Trucker seminar series aims to help professional drivers manage a number of timely issues.

The June 14 seminar will be held at the Casablanca Winery In n in Grimsby June 14 from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. The free seminar will offer strategies on leadership, business, customer service, profit centres, trends and commercial motor vehicle safety, organizers say. It is being put on by Road Today and Outridge Enterprises.

Topics will include mandatory entry-level training (MELT), electronic logging devices, wheel separation prevention, drug testing rules, road safety issues and others. It is being sponsored by Challenger Motor Freight, Fleet Tax Services and Ontario Truck Driving School.

Other dates will include London (July 19), Kingston (Sept. 20) and Oshawa (Nov. 8). Admission is free but registration is required. Register here.
