Bridgestone looks to tread globally with its Bandag brand

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Bridgestone Americas has named Gary Nye as director of operations for its Bandag retread business, who will be tasked with bringing the brand to the global market.

“Gary is a proven leader with a diverse breadth of experience and expertise in sales, engineering and operational roles,” said John Boynton, president of Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. “He will be a key player as we continue our journey to build a stronger, more global brand in Bandag.”

In addition to developing the operating strategy for Bandag, Nye will also work with the Bridgestone commercial trucks and bus tire team to bring greater operational alignment across the company’s commercial division.

Prior to his new position, Nye worked as a senior business operations team leader with Mars Petcare North America, and was with Ford Motor Company for eight years. He holds a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering from Michigan Technological University and a masters of business administration from the University of Michigan.
