VANCOUVER, B.C. — Webtech Wireless and its client Vedder Transport have been nominated for a Technology Impact Award.

The award is sanctioned by the B.C. Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) and acknowledges companies and people that have contributed to the province’s technology landscape. Webtech Wireless and Vedder have been nominated in the Adoption of Technology category for their deployment of a telematics system that allows Vedder to make better business management decisions based on real-time fleet data.

“We particularly appreciate this recognition for the solution we implemented with Vedder Transport, where our custom reporting has had an immediate and positive impact on their operations and bottom line,” said Scott Edmonds, president and CEO of Webtech Wireless.

Vedder Transport was looking for a telematics solution to help it manage its dairy and waste hauling businesses. The Webtech solution allows it to make better business decisions based on real-time fleet intelligence, the company claims.

“As a result of the solution from Webtech Wireless, we have seen tangible results, including increased route efficiency, lowered costs and improved driver behaviour,” said Fred Zweep, president of Vedder Transportation Group.

Award winners will be announced June 5.
