CLEAN UP FOR A CAUSE

Trucks for Change has come up with a creative way to support Canadian charities. Its Clean House for a Cause campaign was launched this month and will run through December. It is asking trucking companies to identify and then donate surplus office furniture, vehicles and equipment as well as unclaimed freight.

The donated items will be matched to a charity that can use those items, Trucks for Change announced. It requests that transportation companies first photograph the items they can offer and then send them to Trucks for Change to determine if there’s a need.

Trailer Wizards, seemingly always eager to chip in when it comes to giving, immediately signed onto the program.

“We felt the funds usually spent on holiday cards and postage would better go to serving those in need this holiday season,” explained Anne McKee executive vice-president of Trailer Wizards. “Partnering with Trucks For Change Network allows us to directly support the wonderful work being done by some of our best trucking customers across the country to make a difference in our communities.”
