MAXIM RAISES $26K IN 2.5 HOURS

A shout-out to Maxim Truck & Trailer, whose annual charity barbecue keeps getting bigger and better. This year the company raised $26,500 in just two-and-a-half hours when it hosted industry partners and friends to its place on May 22. About 800 guests took part, contributing to the fundraising total.

Maxim says the good weather was partly to thank for the event’s success. The money will go towards Maxim’s CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Challenge for Life campaign. Participants will walk 20 kilometres June 7 as part of the challenge.

Our own Kathy Penner is also taking part in the walk, participating on Team Bison. Actually, there’s a ton of trucking industry involvement in this worth cause. For more info or to donate on behalf of one of the participants, go here.
