Shell picks Yeti for snow and ice removal

MONTREAL, Que. — In an effort to improve the safety of its drivers and quality of customer service, Shell has acquired the Yeti truck snow and ice remover system.

The Yeti is an automated system used to clear off snow and ice from trailers, containers, and flatbeds.

Ken Saigle, an engineer for Shell Lubricants, says they chose the Yeti because of how easy it is to use, as well as its safety features. The Yeti works at the push of a button to clear the snow and ice off of trailer roofs, which in turn prevents drivers from climbing atop trailer roofs to clear the snow themselves, a dangerous and time-consuming pursuit.

Often deliveries were made late and customer service suffered because of this. Since acquiring the Yeti, this has changed for Shell.

“Deliveries are made on time and our customers are happy,” says Saigle.
