CALGARY, Alta. – Registration is now open for the Alberta Motor Transport Association’s (AMTA) 2016 Leadership Conference being held at the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff, Alta. April 29-30.

In addition to providing ample time for networking, this year’s event will feature professional development topics that the AMTA has identified as timely based on feedback from its members.

“It’s always so exciting to announce this event,” said AMTA executive director Lorraine Card. “This year, the conference planning committee has put together a great line-up of professional development and industry networking activities. And the Rimrock is the perfect venue in this regard.”

The conference will kick off with a board meeting, which will be open to the association’s full carrier members (Compliance and Regulatory Affairs participants) and will explore the challenges and victories of 2015 and take a look to the future.

The event will also feature a representative from Alberta Transportation who will provide an update on key transportation initiatives.

Other offerings during the conference include a sales and leadership development workshop with specialist Chris Cummins; an address from Canadian Trucking Alliance president and CEO David Bradley, which will be followed by the AMTA’s annual general meeting; a presentation from Marketing Rx Inc. founder and director Kimberly Allison, and then from Grant Aune of Advantage Fleet Services on road safety; and will culminate with Saturday night’s president’s banquet.

“Every year we think of this as a chance to look behind and ahead as we transition from one business year to the next,” said Card. “But it’s not just about business. This is an event our members get excited about and look forward to all year. It’s always a great group and it’s always a great time.”
