Bison teams with Canadian Armed Forces for Wreaths Across Canada

WINNIPEG, Man. – Bison Transport has partnered with several branches of the Canadian Armed Forces to bring the Wreaths Across Canada (WAC) ceremonies to Manitoba and Ottawa.

The events, which will take place at Winnipeg’s Fields of Honor at Brookside and Transcona Cemeteries and Ottawa’s National Military Cemetery, will be attended by members of the Canadian Armed Forces, cadets and veterans, and will also be open to the general public.

“Bison is committed to helping WAC expand their initiative, and continues to work to gain the involvement of the transportation industry, business community and our community at large,” said Rob Penner, president of Bison Transport. “Placing a wreath in remembrance of military personnel we have lost is a way for us to thank those who lie buried for their service and sacrifice to our country. It’s also a way to pay respects to the living, as the families of our fallen have also made a great sacrifice and it’s important to let them know they are not forgotten.”

Bison continues to work with WAC, hoping to expand ceremonies to military cemeteries across the country.

Each event will take place at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at all three locations.
