Trailer Wizards raises funds for Fort Mac evacuees

by Truck News

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Trailer Wizards raised over $8,500 for the Canadian Red Cross in support of those displaced by the Fort McMurray wildfire, which the company said would be matched by the Vanderspek family, resulting in nearly $18,000 being given to the cause.

“Many of us can’t imagine losing our home, businesses and the life we have built. What would we do? How would we move on? Businesses will need to re-group and re-build and thousands of residents will need to find their feet again. This is where organizations such as Red Cross help get the community back working,” said Anne McKee, chief operating officer of Trailer Wizards. “I am honoured to be working with such a generous and compassionate group of people that have supported Fort McMurray and its people when they need it most, both within our company and within the transportation industry at large. Thank you to everyone for your contributions.”

Trailer Wizards’ employees raised the money during the month of May through internal and customer events, such as lunches, raffles and bottle drives.
