WARRENVILLE, Ill. -- Navistar has named Steve Ostarello its new vice-president of powertrain product development.

Ostarello has been with Navistar for more than 25 years, most recently serving as general manager of powertrain product development. He has been leading the organization on an interim basis since the post was vacated earlier this year, Navistar says.

“Steve brings a wealth of knowledge about our truck and engine businesses, technical expertise and high standards for performance along with a broad view of our marketplace to his new role,” said Ramin Younessi, group vice-president, integrated product development and strategy, Navistar. “Steve’s leadership abilities and track record of success are especially important as we move into launch phase with our 2010 programs.”
