Continental's wide-base trailer tire receives SmartWay certification

FORT MILL, S.C. -- Continental Tire’s HTL1 wide-base single trailer tire has received EPA SmartWay ceritification, the company has announced.

 

It becomes the fourth Continental tire to become SmartWay-certified. The HTL1 is a super-single trailer tire designed for highway or regional trailer axle fitments. It features a 13/32” tread depth to minimize irregular wear and maximize fuel efficiency along with with a fuel efficient compound, the company claims.

 

The HTL1 also features a unique pyramid stone bumper/ejection system to keep stones from penetrating the casing.
