ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) has formed a new Green Truck Association (GTA) to help expand and improve the market for green truck applications.

The new association was announced this morning during the NTEA's Green Truck Summit. It will officially launch later this spring but already has an Internet presence at http://www.greentruckassociation.com/.

"Creating an affiliate division specifically focused on green trucks is a natural extension of the work the NTEA began in this area with the launch of the Green Truck Summit a few years ago," said Andrew Outcalt, NTEA president. "As interest and demand for green products continues to grow within the work truck industry, we are positioning the association and our members to provide the support and insight needed to drive ongoing technology improvements and increase awareness of real-world applications."

The GTA will focus on: showcasing green trucks and technology developments; serving as a member resource for legislative, regulatory and funding initiatives relevant to green truck development; supplying members with market data and technical resources; and sharing timly news on green truck products and initiatives.

Membership is open to any interested organization or business, the association announced.
