CALGARY, Alta. -- Shell is looking for candidates to be its next ROTELLA Million Miler. The program recognizes drivers or fleet managers who have gone more than one million miles using only Shell ROTELLA T Engine oil -after the initial factory fill - and who have not had a major engine overhaul.
The program was originally conceived in 1992 after Shell discovered a truck had travelled more than one million miles using ROTELLA T without a single engine overhaul. To date, more than 40 trucks have travelled more than 50 million miles to gain entry to the exclusive club.
To be considered, candidates must have:
-A completed maintenance record or log book verifying the engine has accumulated at least one million miles, and invoices or receipts for verification.
-The original pistons, liners and rings still in the engine after one million miles and proof that no previous maintenance has been completed on the key components. (Shell notes that this may require technical validation including engine disassembly. If inspection is required, Shell suggests planning to have the disassembly coincide with a tear down which may be required for other reasons).
-Complete oil purchases and oil change records to support your claim.
Candidates must also be a Canadian based company or an owner/operator with Canadian citizenship.
Those that successfully pass all requirements will become an official member of the Team ROTELLA "Haul of Fame," and will receive a leather jacket, a certificate of achievement and business cards identifying the individual as a Team ROTELLA T Million Miler.
