NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- European truck fleets will be able to enjoy the benefits of trailer tails, thanks to a regulation that allows for the use of 50-cm tails on new trailers.
The European Union has approved a 50-cm version of ATDynamics’ TrailerTail for use on all new semi-trailers.

There are currently 12,000 trailers using full-sized trailer tails in the US. The European regulation allows for non-cargo carrying extensions to the trailer that will improve aerodynamics. ATDynamics created the TrailerTail Eco 50 to meet this market. It provides fuel savings of 2%, the company claims.
ATDynamics also announced the appointment of Devin Koch to the newly created position of vice-president of international markets.
