Traditional child identification programs have been replaced with a new application, the Find Me ID app
Missingkids.ca launched the new app on October 23. This new resource allows parents to swiftly access their child’s vital information at any place or time.
A child’s electronic ID card includes a current photo as well as vital information about the child. The app allows parents to quickly circulate their child’s pertinent information in the event of an emergency to their local law enforcement agency, or other emergency contacts, as well as to MissingKids.ca.
The app also features a direct link to MissingKids.ca caseworkers for additional support in a crisis situation.
The Find Me ID app is also equipped with prevention and safety information for parents as well as a list of immediate steps to take should their child go missing. Parents can rely on built in prompts to update their child’s photo or a parent can update as they wish, for example, prior to attending a day camp or going shopping at the mall.
Having updated photographs on hand can be an invaluable tool should any child go missing. The Find Me ID app is free, password protected and available on most models of iPhone and Android.
Missingkids.ca is pleased to share this new resource with Canadian families, but they want to ensure that parents are aware of this new app. For more information on the app or how to effectively spread the word to other families, please visit www.FindMeID.ca
