COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Net orders for commercial trucks in January were pretty much as expected, according to preliminary data released by ACT Research.
About 25,200 Class 8 trucks and 13,500 Classes 5-7 vehicles were ordered in January, according to ACT's preliminary figures, which are generally accurate to within 5%.
"There were no surprises with the level of order intake in January," said Kenny Vieth, president and senior analyst, ACT Research. "The preliminary net orders for both Classes 5-7 and Class 8 support our forecasts for production in 2012."
