PORTLAND, Ore. -- Carriers operating in the US that are worried about legal issues there can sign up for a free Webinar on timely legal issues, courtesy of Compli.

Compli provides HR, safety and compliance management software to the transport industry. The host of the Webinar will be Tim Wiseman, a partner in the national transportation law firm Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary.

Wiseman will be addressing legal concerns involving cell phone use, hours-of-service, electronic on-board recorders, sleep apnea and more, organizers say.

The Webinar, entitled ‘Liability concerns for companies with commercial vehicle fleets: Avoiding multi-million dollar verdicts and government scrutiny,’ will also examine a recent $24 million verdict against Coca-Cola in Texas.

“We are very excited about this new collaboration with one of the nation’s foremost law firms specializing in the trucking industry,” said Nick Goodell, general manager, trucking and transportation for Compli. “This is an especially timely webinar, considering the deluge of governmental regulations that are currently impacting the way all trucking companies conduct business. We believe owners of any company with a fleet of trucks, as well as CEOs, CFOs, safety managers, general managers, HR managers, controllers, legal counsel and more are sure to benefit from this webinar.”

The Webinar will be held June 28 from 1-2 p.m.
