ATHENS, Ga. – Carrier Transicold has announced the new enhanced coverage for its Vector trailer refrigeration units.

The units will still offer one year of unlimited coverage and 36-month/6,000-hour limited coverage. For the Vector 8600MT, basic warranty coverage has been extended to 36 months/6,000 hours – triple the warranty for prior remote evaporators. As well, the Vector 8100 now features improved warranty coverage and the run-hours limit for the 36-month and 48-month coverage has been extended to 10,000 hours.

“Vector systems deliver dual benefits of reduced maintenance and higher system reliability because they are less complex than conventional mechanical systems and comparative semi-electric systems,” said Patrick McDonald, product manager – trailer, Carrier Transicold. “Our latest-generation Vector units build on this legacy, employing a fully hermetic electric scroll compressor with 70 percent fewer moving parts than a traditional reciprocating compressor.

“Eliminating mechanical parts, such as belts, pulleys, compressor shaft seals and vibrasorbers that require service and periodic replacement, reduces service requirements while improving reliability. In short, if it’s not there, it can’t break,” McDonald added. “It’s one of the key reasons we’re able to offer improved warranty coverage for our latest models.”

In addition, as opposed to the 36-month/6,000-hour coverage on the earlier hybrid Vector 8600 MT units an 8500, the units now include a 48-month/8,000 hour component.
