MAUMEE, Ohio — Dana has broadened the extended protection plans available for its drive axles used in on-highway applications in the US and Canada.

It is now offering optional warranty coverage beyond the standard five-year/750,000 mile plan on select single drive and tandem drive axles used exclusively in linehaul applications. Eligible products include the Spicer Advantek 40, Spicer Econotrek and Spicer Pro-40 tandem axles.

Under the new program, customers can choose to extend coverage to six years/850,000 miles or seven years/one million miles for an additional fee.

Dana says that until Dec. 31, 2014 it will waive the usual late registration fee for customers purchasing any extended warranty plan for commercial vehicles after the first year of service.

“Dana offers industry-leading technologies to maximize the productivity of trucks used in linehaul applications,” said Mark Wallace, executive vice-president of Dana and group president of Dana On-Highway Driveline Technologies. “These improvements to our extended warranties result from our continued investment in manufacturing and commitment to best-in-class quality, which allow us to support our customers with industry-leading protection programs long after the sale.”
