INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Espar has introduced a new Airtronic NG Commercial air heater that’s powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), designed for natural gas-powered vehicles.

“Our Airtronic NG Commercial is the first air heater that is specially designed for the continuously growing market for natural gas trucks in North America,” announced Dr. Volker Hohensee, president, Espar North America. “The Airtronic NG Commercial project shows that in addition to modern heating components for diesel and gasoline vehicles, we are consistently working on new solutions for alternative, environmentally-friendly drives in the commercial vehicle segment.”

Espar developed the CNG heater with German company Truma, which is a leading European manufacturer of gas-fuelled heating systems. The new heater works with both CNG- and LNG-powered trucks, allowing both the heater and engine to be supplied from one tank. This saves valuable space and simplifies installation, Espar says.
