Geotab tool aims to streamline drivers into newly passed ELD regulations

by Truck News

TORONTO, Ont. – Geotab has added an hours of service (HOS) tool to its comprehensive ProPlus monthly plan, which the company says will help fleets meet the new electronic logging device (ELD) mandate recently passed in the US.

Previously charging separately for the HOS service, Geotab, a telematics company with more than 450,000 vehicles in 70 countries on its roster of users, says the ProPlus plan offers one of the most complete fleet management solutions available today.

“Certain customers require up-to-the-second data for increasing safety, compliance and operational efficiencies,” said Geotab CEO, Neil Cawse. “ProPlus provides three times more data for GPS fleet management than previous plans. This increase in speed and quantity of data points allows for the enabling of animated near live vehicles on a map and better utilization of our in-vehicle driver coaching solution Go Talk. ”

New US regulations will require drivers to use ELDs by December 2017.

Geotab’s ProPlus plan offers users a variety of services, including active tracking, Go Talk, Geotab Drive HOS and Garmin HOS, messaging and routing.
