Paccar and Allison to offer TC10 transmission in Kenworth and Peterbilt models

by Truck West

DENTON, Texas – Paccar has teamed with Allison Transmissions to release a fully automatic TC10 in the company’s Kenworth T680 and T880, as well as its Peterbilt 567 and 579 models, with both Paccar and Cummins engines.

“We are looking forward to offering the TC10 to our Peterbilt and Kenworth customers,” said Landon Sproull, Paccar assistant vice-president. “Allison’s reputation for quality and technology is well known.”

The TC10 will be offered with 10 forward speeds and two reverse, and uses a patented torque converter and twin counter shaft design intended for tractor configurations to optimize performance, fuel economy and provide uninterrupted power shifting in all ranges.

The TC10 will include a five-year, or 750,000 mile transmission system warranty.
