Walmart Canada announced it will introduce added capacity to the market with a new truck that can carry 44 % more freight.

The truck, with a longer and taller trailer, is the first of its kind in Canada and was built in the province of Ontario, said the company.

The company said it worked with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to introduce the new truck and that the added capacity will help in reducing environmental impact by allowing Walmart to take more trucks off the road.

Andy Ellis, SVP, Supply Chain and Logistics, Walmart Canada is introducing the new vehicle at Walmart’s Home office in Mississauga, Ontario November 6.
