Flooding causes border crossing closure

SOUTH JUNCTION, Man. — The South Junction Port of Entry at the Canada-U.S. border was closed last week, after flood waters took out a nearby bridge.

The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency had to close the Port at noon Thursday after a bridge just south of the port on Manitoba Hwy. 348 was washed out.

The agency was recommending truckers use the Port at Piney or Sprague as alternative routes to the U.S. until the problem is solved.

For an update on the condition of the border crossing, call Canada Customs at 204-983-3770.
