SAINTE-JULIE, Que. — Excellence Peterbilt is now offering what it claims to be Canada’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG)-fuelled Class 8 rental truck.

“In collaboration with our partners, Peterbilt Motors, PacLease, Gaz Metro Transport Solutions and Westport HD, we’re offering private and for-hire transporters an opportunity to test drive and compare the economic and environmental benefits of this alternative technology,” Nicole Lussier, Excellence Peterbilt announced this morning.

Lussier said Excellence Peterbilt has experience servicing natural gas-powered trucks at both its Laval and Sainte-Julie facilities.

It will offer heavy-duty vehicles powered by CNG for local distribution beginning in 2013, she added.

We’ll have a full report on the new offering in the February issue of Truck News.
