TORONTO, Ont. — FPInnovations’ Performance Innovation Transport (PIT) Group has declared its second annual conference a success.

The event, held in Toronto Feb. 25-26, brought together fleet managers and industry suppliers to share insights on how to improve truck efficiency.

It featured high-profile speakers including Federal Transport Minister Lisa Raitt.

“PIT Conference 2015 was about sharing ideas and information,” said Yves Provencher, director of the PIT Group. “Open conversation between carriers, industry leaders, influencers, and suppliers about what works and what doesn’t is very beneficial. Together at PIT Conference, fleet operators, developers and manufacturers shape advances that could improve and redefine the North American trucking industry.”

In addition to the seminars and panel discussions, PIT members gathered to discuss 2015 projects. More than 50 dues-paying fleets belong to PIT and they provide input into future projects and research they’d like to see the organization undertake.
