CALGARY, Alta. – The 18 Wheels of Christmas campaign is once again on the move.

Now in its twelfth year, 18 Wheels of Christmas’s goal is to fill 53’ trailers front to back, top to bottom with food for local food banks in the community where the donations are collected.18-Wheels-Xmas-Photo

This year, the organization has three trailers: one in Saskatchewan, one in northern Alberta and B.C. and one in southern Alberta and B.C. Food collection boxes are also placed around the western provinces near businesses, and toy drives have also been organized by 18 Wheels.

The trailers have been out for duty since October 1.

“Our goal this year is the same as years past – to have food in as many food banks in Western Canada as possible. We also want to put as many smiles on little ones faces with the toys collected,” said Colleen Nickel, event organizer and co-founder. “We have loyal supporters, who have been with us from the beginning, some are transportation and related service companies, some are totally in unrelated industries.”

For the exact trailer location in Saskatoon please contact Carrie at 1-800-448-4594; for northern B.C. call Chris at 250-782-2901; for southern Alberta please call Colleen, Janet or Dale at 1-800-640-9602.
