NEW LISKEARD, Ont. — The 5th Wheel Training Institute will be celebrating the grand opening of its new London-Sarnia Campus June 10. The event is open to the public and will be held at the Warwick Central Public School in Warwick, Ont., which was transformed into a training campus for equipment operators and truck drivers earlier this year.

The open house will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will include campus tours and equipment displays, including a tractor-trailer display which highlights the many blind spots professional drivers encounter on the road. In addition to activities for kids and families and a charity barbeque, there will also be a draw for three training scholarships ($250, $500 and $1,000).

Attendees will gain insight on 5th Wheel Training Institute’s industry-recognized training programs and careers in the construction and transportation industry. The unique, all-inclusive education centre includes a 13-acre training yard, on-site student residence and modern equipment, according to company officials.

“Providing quality programs that get people to work has been our goal since 1985,” said Ed Popkie, executive director. “We are proud to bring our proven experience and programs to southwestern Ontario.”
