NEPEAN, Ont. — Not everyone dreams of fame and riches. Just ask retirement resident Grace Fisher, who is mere weeks away from fulfilling her dream of riding in a transport truck.

Fisher, a 96-year-old resident of Ottawa-based Lynwood Park Lodge, will be riding shotgun as part of the Living Dreams program, which is designed to fulfill dreams of those living in “community lifecare” retirement and nursing homes.

Duane McLaughlin of Duane McLaughlin Transport of Haley Station, Ont. will be donating his truck and driving skills at the event, to be held at Lynwood Park Lodge at 2 p.m. Sept. 25.
