ARLINGTON, Va. – The latest edition of the American Trucking Associations look in to the future of freight has been released today.

ATA U.S. Freight Transportation Forecast to 2025 says that freight tonnage will grow almost 24% from 2013-2025 and freight revenue will grow 72%.

“We continue to see growth for the entire freight economy – but we also see that trucking will maintain its position as the nation’s dominant mode of freight transportation,” said ATA senior vice-president and chief economist Bob Costello.

More findings include the prediction that truckload volume will increase 3.5% a year until 2019 and that trucking’s share of freight tonnage will grow to 71.4% in 2025 from 69.1% in 2013.

The Forecast can be purchased or you can download the PDF at www.atabusinesssolutions.com or by calling 1-866-821-3468.

  • I agree Stephen. The drivers are tired of increased regulation in a deregulated industry and slow growth in pay increases. You can’t keep showing profits and think quality employees will just hang around and not get a piece of the pie! Media makes us all equal as today’s drivers are way more intune to industry changes now than years past.
