MONTREAL, Que. — Canadian National (CN) and the Canadian Council of Railway Operating Unions (CCROU) have reached a new tentative collective agreement.

The heads of each union are recommending their members ratify the three-year deal. Details will not be released until then. The current contract expired at the end of 2000.

CCROU does the negotiating for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the United Transportation Union. CN, which is winding up national labor negotiations in Canada, has already secured agreements with the Canadian Auto Workers, the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees and Canadian National Railways Police Association.
