MILTON, Ont. — Canadian National plans to build a major intermodal terminal adjacent to its Halton Subdivision south of here.

The new terminal will initially employ about 100 people and occupy about 100 acres of land.

CN says the terminal is required due to its fast-growing intermodal business. As well, it says the location, just beyond the Greater Toronto Area, suffers much less traffic congestion.

The terminal will be located between Tremaine Rd., First Line, Britannia RD. and Lower Base Line and is scheduled to open in late 2002.

CN’s current intermodal terminal in the Toronto area is located in Brampton, Ont., south of Hwy. 7 and Airport Road.
