Bison Transport’s Rob Wells has been named Canadian Trucking Alliance and Volvo Canada’s Driver of the Year.

The award honours a man or woman on the road who drives safely, gives back to their community and enhances the image of the trucking industry.

“It is drivers like Rob that are the main component in Bison Transport having the reputation as being the ‘Safest Fleet in North America’ as named by the Truckload Carriers Association for the eighth time,” said Garth Pitzel, director of safety and driver development in a press release. “Rob has logged more than two million consecutive accident-free miles with Bison as a lease operator.”

Pitzel said Wells is a great supporter of the trucking industry and that “we are proud to have Rob on our team.”
