COLUMBUS, Ind. — There is a new head of the components group at Cummins Inc.

Tracy Embree was named president of the division. As part of her new role she will also become part of of the Cummins leadership team, and will report to company chief operating officer Rich Freeland. Her appointment will take effect on January 1, 2015. Her current position with the company is president of Cummins turbo technologies (CTT).

Embree is succeeding Anant Talaulicar who has held two titles: president of the components group and leader of the India area business organization. After January, he will focus solely on the latter duties.

“It gives me great pleasure to name Tracy president of the components group,” said Freeland. “During Tracy’s time in CTT, Turbo Technologies increased profitability by 40 percent and maintained its market leadership in the heavy duty and mid-range segments. She has a strong track record of success and I am confident that she has the right skills, experience and leadership to build on the success that Anant brought to the components group.”

Prior to serving as president of CTT, Embree worked in the mid-range engine business where she was responsible for the on-highway line of business.
