AUBURN HILLS, Mi. – Cummins Inc. has twice the reasons to celebrate after the company was named a double winner during the Chrysler Group LLC’s 2013 supplier of the year awards.

Out of 18 awards given out to recognize suppliers for what Chrysler calls “extraordinary performance” the Columbus, Indiana-based manufacturer walked away with two separate honours—the only multiple winner at the event.

Cummins won both powertrain supplier of the year and technical cost reduction supplier of the year.

Award recipients were based on an evaluation of each company’s external balanced ccorecard performance in 2013, which evaluates supplier performance in areas such as quality, delivery, cost, warranty and partnership, and input from Chrysler Group senior leadership. Suppliers were able to nominate themselves to receive consideration for the sustainability and diversity supplier development award categories.
