Doug Harvey’s philanthropist spirit acknowledged

by Truck News

WINNIPEG, Man. – Doug Harvey, president and CEO of Maxim Truck and Trailer, was named Outstanding Philanthropist for 2015 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Manitoba (AFPM).

The honour, which was awarded Nov. 13, recognizes Harvey’s generous support of the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation (of which he is also the board chair), the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, as well as the way the Winnipeg native has inspired the philanthropic spirit in his staff, encouraging them to volunteer and partake in fundraising initiatives.

Harvey, a University of Manitoba graduate, employs several people across Canada through his companies – Maxim Truck and Trailer, Arne’s Welding and Summit Trailers – and the AFPM highlighted the impact he has made on the progress of his home city.

Harvey’s company Maxim sponsors arts, culture, education, health and sports initiatives in several Canadian cities and each year a percentage of the business’ revenues are donated to charity.
