EDMONTON, Alta. — The Alberta Trucking Industry Safety Association (ATISA) has honored Eldon Bruce Johnson as their 2000 Driver of the Year.

ATISA General Manager Lane Kranenburg presented the award during the annual
ATISA Truck Safety Conference in Edmonton on Feb. 22.

“Put simply, Eldon Bruce Johnson loves to drive,” says Kranenburg. “Eldon has hauled heavy equipment, steel, gravel and general freight. Basically anything that could be carried on, or in, a trailer. And he did his job in a professional and courteous manner.”

Johnson has logged 45 years behind the wheel of a big rig, without recording a single accident or traffic ticket. Johnson was thrilled to accept the award in the presence of his supportive family.

“This is wonderful,” beamed an elated Johnson, while flanked by his wife
Cecilia and two children. “It’s really nice to be recognized.”
