WINNIPEG, Man. — Truckers who are new to the industry can learn the ins and outs of the business side of things with the Commercial Operators Regulatory Education (CORE) program.

Available only in Manitoba, the course outlines areas such as initial entry, national safety code regulations, Hours-of-Service record keeping, carrier profiles and safety ratings and compliance and regulatory services.

The new program is designed specifically for the Manitoba trucker, and focuses on a trucker’s life behind the desk as well as life behind the wheel. CD-ROM and printed versions are available.

The Manitoba Trucking Association has a limited number of copies available, and can be reached at 204-632-6600. The program is also available free of charge from Transport Safety and Regulation at 1550 Dublin Ave.
