Grande Prairie roads scrutinized

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. — Drivers will soon find out if the transport network in the Grande Prairie area make the grade, as the city commissions a thorough report on the state of its roads.

Stantec Consulting of Edmonton will be going over local roads with a fine toothed comb over the next month to see if they’re up to par. The findings will be released this fall during the city’s budget discussions.

“We do this once every four years. It gives us the overall condition of the arterial roads, collector roads, local roads including Alberta Transportation’s (Hwy. 43) bypass,” city transportation engineer Darwin Juell told local media. “It’s a tool for our annual rehabilitation programs.”
