Mack Trucks announces deliveries through July

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Deliveries of Mack tractors through July totaled 15,062 vehicles, down 32 per cent from the 22,302 units delivered during the same period last year.

While that sounds bad, it is important to note heavy-duty deliveries for the industry on the whole are off a whopping 37.1 per cent from last year, according to at least one competing manufacturer.

The South American market remains a shinning exception to the current trends for Mack officials, with sales there increasing to 686 vehicles — a 173 per cent increase over last year.
