GRAPEVINE, Tx. — The grand prizewinners of the 38th annual National Fleet Safety Awards presented at the Truckload Carriers Association’s convention were announced earlier this week and two Canadian companies came out on top.

MacKinnon Transport, Inc. of Guelph, Ontario won the award in the small carrier category and Bison Transport, Inc. (a big winner this year taking home a total of five awards) of Winnipeg, Manitoba won in the large carrier category.

“These two carriers continually set the bar and demonstrate that they strive to achieve a high standard of excellence in the safety arena,” said TCA president, Chris Burruss.  “Awarding TCA’s Grand Prize for fleet safety to both MacKinnon and Bison validates exactly that.”

Accepting the award on behalf of MacKinnon was Alex MacKinnon, vice-president, finance and administration. Representing Bison was Rob Penner, the company’s executive vice-president and COO.
