TROY, Mich. — Four of Meritor’s manufacturing facilities have been awarded the 2011 Quality Achievement Award from Paccar. The award – among the industry’s most demanding due to the high standards established for supplier parts and component quality – recognizes suppliers that have achieved a defect rate of 50 parts per million (PPM) or less during 2011.

The Meritor facilities honoured are: Forest City, N.C.; Newark, Ohio; Laurinburg, N.C.; and Manning, S.C. At least four Meritor facilities have won the award during each of the past three years.

“We are proud of each Meritor facility that received the award,” said Chris Villavarayan, vice-president of global manufacturing and supply chain management at Meritor. “Meritor is committed to providing the highest quality products year after year, meeting critical global standards for quality, reliability, and performance for our customers around the world, and this quality award serves to validate our efforts.”

Meritor supplies axles, braking systems, and other drivetrain components for Paccar’s Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF trucks.
