TROY, Michigan – Meritor Inc. is offering extended warranty protection on two of its product lines.

On its RideSentry trailer suspension system, the company is now covering damage to the slider box caused by “sudden, accidental impact with a curb or similar fixed object.” This will be applicable on MPA38 and the MPA40 suspensions.

According to the Meritor, “the RideSentry curbing damage eligibility provision considers deformation such as bending, buckling or breakage of the trailer suspension slider box that is caused by accidental impact with a fixed object and is limited to the originally equipped trailer. The warranty provision does not cover damage to other components or damage resulting from a collision with another vehicle, rollover or fire or if the trailer is considered to be total loss, scrapped or otherwise not salvageable.”

On its Permalube PRL drivelines, Meritor has increased the warranty for an extra year (or an extra 100,000 miles). So now its 2015 linehaul vehicles will be covered for five years/500,000 miles instead of the four years/400,000 miles warranties that were applied to earlier models.
