LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The rig belonging to a Minnesota trucker was declared ‘best of the best’ at a recent showdown held at the Mid-America Trucking Show and consisting of winning trucks from a full schedule of National Association of Show Truck (NAST) events.

Jonathan Eilen of Hampton, Minn. won over three other finalists to take home the coveted Truck-Lite winner’s trophy. He also took home a cheque for US$5,000 for his efforts.

Eilen’s winning truck was a 2010 Peterbilt Model 389 pulling his late brother Jake’s 2008 Mac trailer. The truck and trailer are put to work daily hauling rock, aggregate and other materials for the family business Eilen & Sons Trucking.

“The trucks represented here today are truly worthy of all the recognition we can give,” said Truck-Lite executive vice-president of sales, Tim Walker. “They are among the most beautiful to grace America’s highways. But more importantly, the four drivers here today are profitable business people. They know the value of well prepared, well maintained equipment, and managing for safe, profitable operations. Congratulations to Jonathan and all the champions with us today.”
