MOUNT PEARL, Nfld. — The city of Mount Pearl, Nfld. will be funded $1.5 million to go towards paving and road reconstruction.

Oliver Langdon, minister of municipal and provincial affairs, and Julie Bettney, MHA of Mount Pearl, made the announcement.

“This is a significant amount of funding provided through the Municipal Capital Works program for paving and road reconstruction for the City of Mount Pearl,” says Langdon.

“I am pleased to announce $1.5 million for roads in Mount Pearl. The funding will enable the city to improve the overall transportation system in Mount Pearl,” says Bettney.

The mayor of Mount Pearl Dave Denine says the city is pleased to receive the funding, which he has allocated to increase general road conditions, which will in turn increase road safety.
