MTA names award winners at annual banquet

WINNIPEG, Man. — The Manitoba trucking community came together last week during the Manitoba Trucking Association’s annual Fall Awards Banquet.

The event celebrated and gave recognition to the best trucking representatives in the province.

The recipients of the awards were as follows:

MTA Pioneer Club Inductee(s):  Julie Francis, of Arnold Bros. Transport.

Payne Transportation LP / MTA Associated Trade Award:  Neil Cooke of Red River College.

RBC / MTA Service to the Industry Award:  Norm Blagden of Searcy Trucking.

Shaw Tracking / MTA Distinguished Member Award:  Paul’s Hauling Ltd.

2014 Volvo Trucks Canada Manitoba Driver of the Year: James McKibbon, of Trappers Transport.

Volvo Trucks Canada National Driver of the Year: Mark Tricco of Bison Transport.

“On behalf of the board of directors it is my pleasure to congratulate all of this year’s recipients,” said MTA president Greg Arndt.  “These individuals have worked hard towards a better industry and have earned the respect of their colleagues and we’re proud to recognize them for their achievements.”
