N.B. TO CHANGE EXIT NUMBERS THIS FALL

LONG’S CREEK, N.B. — With all 195km of the Long’s Creek to Moncton highway (Route 2) set to open in late 2001, changes will be made to exit numbers on Routes 1, 2 and 7.

Exit numbers in New Brunswick are based on the distance from the beginning of a route to the exit itself. With the opening of this new section of highway, route lengths will be revised and exit numbers will reflect the change.

Approximately 70 existing interchanges will have their exit numbers changed in the fall of 2001 and each of the highway signs will be changed at that time.

As well, portions of the existing Route 2 between Fredericton and Moncton will be renumbered.

Questions should be directed to the Maintenance and Traffic branch of the New Brunswick Department of Transportation at 506-453-2213.
