LONDON, Ont. — National Truck League Insurance Solutions (NTL) has partnered with Zurich Canada to provide a new travel medical emergency insurance plan for their clients.

NTL officials say the new policy has unique and exclusive features not offered by any other insurance company in the marketplace, including:

• Truck Protection Benefit – covers the cost of parking the truck in a secured compound or hiring a private security firm should the scheduled trip be delayed due to a medical emergency.

• Cargo Delivery and Vehicle Return – provides a qualified driver to deliver cargo and return the vehicle if the trip cannot be completed due to a medical emergency.

“National Truck League is committed to serving the trucking industry,” says NTL president Rod Stiller. “We are constantly looking for new ways to better protect our clients business, assets, health, families, livelihood and reputation. This new partnership and policy speak to that commitment.”

Stiller says that the new policy is not only great for the driver, but will also save companies significant costs if they have a driver with an out-of-province medical emergency.

“If a driver does have a medical emergency while on the road we want to make sure that they are focused on their health and getting better. However, we all know that the world keeps on spinning and business continues,” Stiller said. “With some of the new features we have added such as cargo delivery and truck protection, our clients can be confident knowing that their truck and cargo will be taken care of and that load will be delivered should something happen to them.”
