NEWFOUNDLAND ANNOUNCES ROADWORK

ST. JOHN’S, Nfld. — The Newfoundland Department of Works, Services and Transportation has announced $2.4 million in roadwork slated for this construction season.

The area of Trinity North will see $925,000 spent resurfacing various roads on Random Island and in the South West Arm area, as well as for widening and repaving a half kilometer section of Route 239. The money will also be used to replace Lodge Bridge on Route 205 at Hillview.

In the Terra Nova region, $850,000 will be used to resurface local roads in Port Blandford, upgrade sections of Terra Nova Road, and resurface Charlottetown Road, including local roads.

Additionally, $650,000 will be spent in Bonavista South. There, the funds will go toward upgrading and repaving a section of Route 235-17; resurfacing a section of Route 235 near Birchy Cove; paving one kilometre in Jamestown; and paving two kilometres in Winter Brook.
