ARLINGTON, Va. – It’s time to reward those who put the industry in good light.

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is looking for nominations for the 8th annual Mike Russell Trucking Industry Image Award. The honour, which is sponsored by TMW Systems Inc., is awarded to those who “creatively generate positive awareness of the trucking industry.”

There are four separate awards categories covering motor carriers, industry suppliers (including OEMs and service providers), associations or organizations, and drivers and owner/operators.

Entrants will be judged based on three factors:

  • Creativity—What innovative or novel ways has the nominee promoted the image of trucking over the last year?
  • Frequency and Reach/Impact—Efforts should reach a significant and relevant audience.
  • Execution—All communications in the campaign should reflect the highest standards of quality and professionalism. Entries should include examples of any return on investment.

“As our industry continues to make great strides in safety and environmental sustainability while continuing to play an essential role in the US economy, there has never been a more important time to tell our story,” said ATA president and CEO Bill Graves.

“Each year, we look to honour those carriers, state associations and allied companies who go the extra mile to promote this industry that we are all so proud of.”

Nominations are being accepted until September 11. For more information about the award, see the ATA website.
